POSITION DETAILS

Sustainability Consultant

ELM has a position available for a Sustainability Consultant located in its Philadelphia area office. The position will support the advancement and implementation of ELM’s sustainability plan and annual reporting and the growth of our sustainability management practice. The successful candidate will engage on current projects and support the development of new projects with existing and new clients across a range of industries, authorities, and other groups.

Project Type examples:

  • Sustainability Planning and Reporting for companies, authorities, and municipalities
  • ESG and GHG analyses, including as an integrated part of environmental management programs and comprehensive plans
  • Green and Sustainable Remediation
  • Climate Vulnerability, Risk Assessments and Adaptation Strategies
  • Benefit-Cost Analysis for climate adaptation and mitigation plans
  • Resiliency Strategies and Plans for built and natural ecosystems

Targeted Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Sustainability, or relevant field (i.e., environmental sciences, resource economics, engineering) and a Master’s Degree in Sustainability Management or the equivalent
  • 3+ years' professional experience to include several of the following: sustainability planning or management, ESG reporting, GHG accounting and reporting, sustainability economics/finance, climate change / resilience, social return on investment analysis, environmental management, green infrastructure, wind/solar energy
  • Working knowledge of the fundamentals of sustainability
  • Demonstrated experience developing and contributing to the management of sustainability programs
  • Substantial working knowledge in many of the following areas: sustainability management systems, sustainability program development, environmental justice, corporate social responsibility, ESG reporting, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and related standards/frameworks, carbon management, water, energy and/or GHG/carbon footprint, and green building/infrastructure sustainability (e.g., LEED or Envision)

Senior Project Manager Engineer

Senior Project Manager Geologist/Hydrogeologist
Progressive, fast-paced, growing environmental consulting firm has an immediate opening for a qualified Senior Geologist/Hydrogeologist Project Manager with 10+ years of relevant experience. Candidates must have experience in site investigation and remediation at commercial / industrial properties with expertise in contaminant hydrogeology / plume delineation and ground water remediation in overburden and fractured bedrock aquifers.  Experience designing, permitting, and implementing in-situ injection remediation projects preferred.

The position includes a mix of field and office work on projects ranging from focused soil/ground water investigations, to complex RI/RA’s involving hydrogeologic characterization and aquifer analysis/interpretation (slug/pumping tests, borehole geophysical tests, vertical profiling/fracture characterization; packer testing, etc.).  Primary responsibilities will include implementation and management of technical and administrative aspects of environmental remediation projects, as well as client communication and coordination.  The successful candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills and must be proficient at preparing and presenting technical presentations to senior staff, and clients.  Experience with developing/preparing technical reports and supporting graphics is highly desired.

Environmental Wetlands Scientist
Progressive and growing environmental consulting firm with offices in NJ and PA, has an immediate opening in their Bethlehem, PA office for an Environmental Wetland Scientist. The preferred candidate should have a background in wetland and water resources and environmental permitting compliance, including sustainable and resilient wetland creation/restoration, streambank restoration and stabilization, threatened and endangered species habitat assessments, construction oversight, contractor coordination, and environmental remediation.

Responsibilities: Duties will include, but not be limited to, habitat characterization surveys (wetland, streams, and vegetation), sampling of environmental media, restoration design/planning, field surveys, construction compliance oversight and documentation, post-construction monitoring, report writing, and environmental permitting.

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in an ecological field and five years’ experience or Master’s degree and Three or more years of experience

Job requirements can include but are not limited to:

  • Training/certifications in wetland delineation (Professional Wetland Scientist, Wetland Professional in Training)
  • Experience in freshwater and tidal brackish ecosystems
